Get Your Rebel On

Rebel Wilson X Angels Collection
I came across this cute yet edgy collection while perusing around Lord & Taylor 5th Avenue. I saw a few pieces that jumped out at me immediately. While looking through the racks, it dawned on me that i had actually seen this collection in action, at this year’s The Curvy Con. I put 1 and 2 together and remembered that the comedic actress Rebel Wilson had started her own line. She mixed flirty with edge and I’m loving everything about this.

The fit is great on all the pieces that i tried but i ended up sizing down to a 1x in everything. I’m usually a solid 18/2x in most brands, for reference. I would advise that you size down.
The quality of the pieces are extraordinary.
The price range is moderate (jacket was around $80, jeans around $60).

Exaggeration is Necessary…

I know I can’t be the ONLY one that can never have too much Peplum. I think I have peplum tops in almost every color. I have it on dresses and in skirts. It just flatters my body so much.
In all my peplum pieces, I can’t say that I have one like this particular top.
The cascading exaggerated side detailing just gives it such a luxurious and couture type feel
And like all peplum, it has the versatility to be dressed up or down (in my case I went for casual).
Not that it isn’t uber fashionable on it’s own but I had to add my little elements to make it mine. The belt gives it a edgy layer and the cat ears just brings this all together for me.
When I love something, I tend to get it in a multitude of colors. Luckily for me, it comes in a few.

Fall Type Maxi

During the Spring/Summer Season, there was this one dress that almost everyone seemed to either have or want. I, like the rest, was totally enamored with that specific dress. So, of course, I bought it. But I never took the chance to photograph it because, as we already stated above, everyone had it.

No longer available on the site.
I LOVED IT SO MUCH, that I went back and got it in another color. The dress just looked and fit amazing on me. So why not?? However, I never got a chance to wear it during the Spring/Summer Season.
So, while delving into my closet, I came across it again. Still baring it’s gitionline.com tag. I started thinking quickly, how can I make this cold weather appropriate?? So I tried it on again and fell in love with it all over!
The sleeves already gave me the coverage I needed on my arms for the cold-weather, but I added a leather layer. For extra protection. I chose the peplum styled PU simulated leather jacket from Forever21 to give an exaggerated Oomph around the waist. And then I topped it off with my favorite street find, this AMAZING HAT.  I kept the boot really simple but they are calve height.

*Style Notes: I choose the dress with the darker background because it fits into fall a little better for me. And I kept my makeup very warm and neutral to bring an added layer of Fall Realness.

Maxi Dresses just work for all seasons. All it takes is a simple re-arranging of accessories and layers and you can definitely make your favorite SummerTime staple, your Fall “IT’ Piece.

Caped Crusader!

This is one trend I can’t get enough of! Anything “Caped” gives me life!
I was extremely stoked when I found this BEAUTIFUL Caped Blazer at one of Miami’s hidden gem boutiques [Gitionline.com]. I jumped on it immediately. The print kind of puts me in the mind of the vintage Versace Print that Tupac used to Rock. And when something reminds me of Tupac, I instantly jump on it. Another great feature of this coat/jacket is that it is longer than most that I’ve seen. Most are waist length. This one is hip length.

I chose to keep the jacket as the focal point and muted everything else out with Black Accompaniments. The One-Piece body suit and High Black Boots were a perfect pairing.

O-LIVE-U: Fall Trending…

OLIVE is the “IT color of this Fall Season. It’s a color that I overly love. So I covered ALL bases when shopping for Olive Items.

Today, I’m wearing a beautiful draped hi-low Cocoon Dress by Charlotte Russe +
(unfortunately the color isn’t available but they do have an equally beautiful color still on their site). My favorite details on this dress ARE the cocoon-like draping at the hips and the wrap front top.
This type of dress can be worn to fit work and play.

I kept the accents neutral here. I choose to add a hat, skinny belt and bootie but you can easily opt out of all these accessories. This dress is immaculate on it’s own.

Though not featured here, I love this color with Gold Accents. If I had to style this different, I definitely would pair it with a gold ankle wraped heel, big gold earrings and a gold clutch.

I added this fun duster-like coat for extra dimension and to add another layer in case it’s cooler.

Bootie: NineWest
Hat: Claire’s

How would you rock Olive?? What’s your favorite color of this season???

Fab Fridays: TRAP-eze Queen

Happy Friday Folks!!!
Here we are, at the ending of another week.

Today’s post features this Trapeze Dress from A’Gaci Plus. For the longest time, I’ve passed by the A’Gaci Stores in the malls and loved the style of clothes they offered. But of course, not much was available in plus sizes. They were all straight sized items. NOW the times are changing and most stores are upping the ante with adding plus sized departments in their already existing stores.

A’Gaci is very inexpensive and carries trendy pieces. So, the latest in styles is what you’ll find.

I love this dress. It can be worn as a flowy tunic or as shown here!
I chose to pair this dress with a chic bootie I got last year from JustFab. Unfortunately they aren’t sold anymore. But there are so many options similar.  And what’s a fall outfit without a hat???!!!

Above all else, this ensemble is EASY and comfortable to wear. I believe it’s a staple in the fall. You can dress it up or down, add a jacket or sweater and many other options.

I love these BOOTIES

What do you think of this Trapeze Dress??

Make them Pieces Hit!

Welcome Back!!! I know it’s been a week or so since we’ve last met up, but here we are. It’s October already.
The thing I like most about this time of the year are the rich color options in clothing!!! (Not that you can’t wear these colors year round but the availability of options are limitless during the fall)
I think my favorite color combo HAS to be Pumpkin and Cranberry (or a deep burgundy color). I’m all for this pairing in work and play clothing.
With these two colors, the neutrals can be anything (nude, navy, animal print (yes I use animal prints as a neutral).

Here I paired a textured pencil skirt in PUMPKIN with a rich hued Cargo Anorak Jacket. I chose to belt it to give it a little more structure. The shoes and belt are a richer/darker hue of Burgundy to add a bit of dimension and to finish it off, I added Cheetah print earrings.
Totally making each piece hit with the placement and pairings of the other pieces.

I am so HERE for this color combo. What about you??
